Barre Town has full-time, twenty-four hour Police and EMS (ambulance) departments. The on-call Fire Department maintains a roster of 40 members assigned to one of two stations. A part-time Emergency Management (civil defense) director assists the Town Manager to plan and coordinate Emergency Management activities.
